Great choice of song for a well edited trailer.
The Internet did indeed kill Gap’s new logo. Gap had proposed a brand new logo, but has since retracted it after the staggering amount of negative feedback.
Gap’s response via its official Facebook:
Ok. We’ve heard loud and clear that you don’t like the new logo. We’ve learned a lot from the feedback. We only want what’s best for the brand and our customers. So instead of crowd sourcing, we’re bringing back the Blue Box tonight.
I dont’ know if they really needed all the horrible feedback to come to the conclusion that the new logo was horrible. I’m sure an intern in the marketing department was gritting his teeth when he said he liked the new look. I mean just look at the logo! I would have thought that after 20 years of using such a classy, recognizable logo, that the redesigned one would at least look better….
Hats off to Gap though for owning up to their mistake and preventing the possible death of their brand.
Google Instant appeared out of nowhere. In one of the most dramatic changes to Google’s search engine since Google suggest, Instant allows for near real-time searching. I’ve already begun to see a change in my own search habits as I constantly neglect to hit the search button, instead opting to delete my phrase and type another query. What does this mean for SEO though? Personally, I don’t know yet. Others have speculated that you would need to start concentrating on partially typed keywords, which sounds absolutely ridiculous. Luckily, Google themselves have come out and stated that this would not be the case and that search engine marketers should not change their strategy. For normal users, the jury is still out to see if it changes their search habits at all.
Yahoo’s brand new log in screens for Yahoo Mail look great. Every time you load the page you are greeted with a different screen. I particular like the chick with the tattoos. Very vibrant backgrounds to add a bit of spice to something as boring as logging in to view your mail.
The Recently released Gold Edition of Resident Evil sports a really attractive box cover. Between the 360 version and the Ps3, I would have to say that the 360′s is a bit more attractive and actually tries to incorporate the word GOLD into its design.
I’m beginning to notice that the xbox’s top design seems to always detract from the overall design while the ps3 doesn’t seem to do this. It would be foolish to think that the design of the cover doesn’t influence sales……
One of the indicators that a commercial has just accomplished its goal is the sound of your laughter. I couldn’t contain myself with the beautiful juxtaposition of the Biffo the Clown to the KGB supplied one. The beer bellied, scary looking clown tossing drinks as kids squealed in terror is just a very hard image to forget. The other obvious comparison made here is the simplicity of KGB’s service to the digging through of search results ( Looking at you Google). This is a smart way to pitch KGB’s services and really hammer their message. The hilarious video helps too. Check out the video below and see what you think.
Just like the Halo ODST live action commercials, the Halo Reach Beta Trailer does not fail to impress.
